Fawn & Sable is a wedding-focused digital publication that showcases and celebrates the modern and discerning Black bride throughout the journey of matrimony. Conceived in 2014 by three sisters, Fawn & Sable displays creative excellence in storytelling by featuring weddings that present the many unique portraits of Black women during their path to marital bliss and beyond. Our mission is to be a platform where brides can view tastefully-curated wedding galleries and one-of-a-kind content; a place where they can see themselves as brides and be inspired.
Brittany is Creative & Editorial Director and the founder of Fawn & Sable. Brittany was inspired to create Fawn & Sable in 2013 while planning her own wedding when she noticed the limited representation and inclusion of Black brides across the wedding industry. She elicited the help of her sisters, vowing to address this concern by creating a media platform that could inspire all brides by featuring Black women. Brittany has always possessed a passion and penchant for written expression and design, which led her to get a Bachelor’s degree studying journalism at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Later, she entered the education space and earned a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s Teachers College. Her career and educational experiences have given her a creative eye and an understanding of diverse perspectives. Brittany enjoys getting crafty and singing showtunes. But when she isn’t writing about brides and keeping up with the latest wedding industry happenings, she’s spending time with her three young children, their dog, a Boston Terrier named Teddy, and her husband, Evan. She and Evan got married in 2014 (see their wedding post here).
Stephanie, the middle sister of the trio, serves as Business & Development Director. Responsible for bridal recruitment and growth management, her managerial background keeps the team on task. Stephanie received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, followed by a Master’s degree in occupational therapy from University of North Carolina. Stephanie’s passion for advocating for others shows in her work in healthcare as well as with Fawn & Sable, as she lives by the brand’s mission of championing Black women in the bridal industry and beyond. Stephanie loves to paint, exercise and is an active member of her church. When she’s not enriching the lives of those around her, she is snuggling her newborn baby with her husband, Christian (see their wedding post here and their engagement post here).
Cassie, Marketing & PR Director, rounds out the three sisters behind Fawn & Sable. Cassie is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, with a degree in Strategic Communication and a minor in Fashion & Retail Studies. She currently works in Influencer Marketing. She effortlessly marries each of these disciplines to further Fawn & Sable’s social media strategies, aesthetic and mission. Cassie has a keen eye for all things sartorial and makes a mean charcuterie board. When she’s not busy maintaining a consistent image for the brand, she can be found vlogging her daily life while living in New York City, entertaining, whipping up delicious yet clean eats and treats, and learning the latest TikTok trends.
