Real Weddings: Stephanie & Christian

Stephanie and Christian’s love story was featured here, on Fawn & Sable last December. Their elegant and earthy boho wedding has finally occurred, and we are excited to be the first to showcase their big day. Stephanie, our Business & Development Director, and Christian are fun-loving yet intentional when they set out to accomplish something. That was evident in the execution of their vision. They wanted to ensure their guests felt safe, welcomed and inspired, throughout their entire wedding weekend. After having to spend the last year devising backup plan after backup plan due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, the couple had to make many tough decisions including requiring that all of their 196 guests be vaccinated in order to attend. Stephanie also works in the healthcare sector and Christian has a career at Progressive Insurance. Both had lost loved ones due to COVID-19 just prior to the wedding and felt that this requirement was one of the only ways that they may have a chance in ensuring the safety of their guests many of whom traveled from near and far. “I wanted my grandmother, who is 93-years-young, to feel safe,” said Stephanie. They were even interviewed by their local TV station about their vaccination requirement. Wondrously, the couple was able to create the wedding of their dreams despite the challenges of the times, and thankfully just as many laws and restrictions were lifted nationwide. On their wedding day, the couple privately exchanged personally written vows before embarking upon their first look surrounded by city views. During the ceremony, their pastor, and also their friend, was intentional in his speech emphasizing Stephanie’s “fiery” yet empathetic poise that balance’s Christian’s easy-going and graceful spirit as they were wed in front of cascading bohemian floral archways. Guests enjoyed an outdoor, rooftop cocktail hour then dinner and dancing surrounded by artistically crafted, natural elements of pampas grass, live orchids and dried palms. Stephanie was brought to tears when the couple experienced their reception reveal absorbing every part of the event space from the height of the centerpieces to the textures of each arrangement. “I wanted to go for what I call ‘Earthy Elegance’ and provide a transformative experience for guests that evoked all of their senses,” Stephanie said. As they showcased the best parts of themselves and their love to everyone, Christian and Stephanie get to begin their true best part, which is the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.
