Two lawyers have a midsummer’s dream wedding bursting with shades of light blue in Houston, TX

Real Weddings: Brittany & James

Brittany, an alumna of the University of Houston and Thurgood Marshall School of Law, crossed paths with James, who attended Union College and Howard Law, during a study abroad program through Howard Law School. Six weeks in Cape Town brought them closer together, and their bond became unbreakable. They shared their dreams, their passions, and their love for each other while exploring the vibrant culture of South Africa. The beautiful landscapes of Cape Town mirrored the blossoming love between them. After James was sworn in as a member of the New York State Bar, he knew it was time to take their relationship to the next level. He chose a moment that was both celebratory and intimate. With champagne in hand, he proposed to Brittany at her parents’ house, surrounded by the warmth of their families. It was a moment of pure joy and love, a promise of a future filled with togetherness. On a midsummer’s night in June of 2022, in Houston, TX, Brittany and James celebrated their love in an evening wedding that radiated glamor, lushness and elegance. But before the ceremony, they shared a private and heartfelt moment. Standing back to back, they read their vows to each other in private, preserving the surprise and the magic of seeing each other for the first time at the altar. As the bride was escorted down the aisle with her father, the renowned singer, Marium Echo, serenaded the moment with “I Never Felt This Way” by Brian McKnight. Two hundred guests gathered to witness this beautiful union, coming together to share in the joy of Brittany and James’s love story. The night was filled with laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts and unforgettable memories.
