Elementary sweethearts revisit childhood memories in hometown engagement shoot

The sweetest love stories often begin in kindergarten with innocent recess crushes. For many, that 5-year-old puppy love ends on the elementary playground, but for Brooklyn and Keenan, who were in kindergarten together, the seeds of love were sewn at that early age. Of course it wasn’t until high school that Brooklyn and Keenan even became close friends, and after the first semester of college, a romantic relationship formed. The pair embarked on a three-year courtship, before Keenan planned out a surprise proposal with the help of Brooklyn’s sister. A group of folks were going to be meeting at her sister’s house for a birthday celebration for some family members. Once Brooklyn arrived, her sister instructed her come around to the back of the house, which she thought was a bit odd, yet figured the party must be setup in that direction. As soon as she had entered the back gate, she noticed Keenan’s set up underneath a white-draped canopy, and she nearly dropped the food she was carrying. Keenan approached his kindergarten sweetheart, while their family was watching from the screened-in porch to propose. Through tears of joy, Brooklyn unequivocally said yes.

Naturally, the engaged couple had their photo shoot at their school, Pin Oak Elementary in Lexington, TN, where their love began. They also shot some around their hometown. Brooklyn and Keenan were married in September of 2018 at The Venue at Twin Oaks in Humboldt, TN.
