Real Weddings: Bryana & DJ

Bryana and DJ met while attending Savannah State University in Savannah, GA. It was DJ’s “calm demeanor, loving spirit, and positive outlook on life” that made Bryana swoon, not to mention his good looks. He was captivated by her genuine and honest nature, her beauty of course, and no doubt her ambitiousness. Bryana moved to Chicago to achieve her master’s degree after undergrad, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology. It was at Bryana’s graduation from her master’s program that DJ, a software engineer, popped the question in front of her family at a celebratory dinner — he casually slipped the proposal into the dinner prayer — and of course she said yes! An ode to the romantic scenery and lush, swampy beauty of Savannah, the couple used the Southern town as inspiration for their wedding and color palette. The beautiful, bright sun shone over them as they said their vows in an outdoor, summer ceremony, attended by 200 guests. Their wedding reception featured dreamy, garden-like décor including chandeliers — the day was perfectly executed by their planner. After dinner, speeches, toasts, cake and a first dance that looked as though Bryana and DJ were floating on cloud nine, a lively fête of dancing took place, ending with a sparkler send-off for the sweet couple.
