Real Weddings: Destiny & Jeremiah

One might say that the couples who game together, stay together. Such is true for Destiny and Jeremiah who met through online gaming. Jeremiah lived in Fort Worth, TX at the time, while Destiny, who attended California State University-Long Beach, was all the way over on the West Coast, yet they hit it off as friends. It wasn’t until Destiny visited Texas and she and Jeremiah met in person that they were able to consider a romantic relationship. Jeremiah, who went to University of North Texas for college, didn’t have to woo his dream girl over long-distance for long; Destiny relocated to Texas knowing that Jeremiah was the one. Since Destiny and Jeremiah share a playful spirit, Jeremiah would often tease Destiny by pretend proposing to her with a Ring Pop candy. On the day of the real deal, Jeremiah coaxed Destiny to hike up a hill in Austin, TX, where the couple had taking a mini vacation one weekend. At the top of the hill, Jeremiah got down on one knee and popped the question, to which Destiny double checked that it wasn’t a Ring Pop, but a bona fide diamond ring, which it was. The pair did not allow a pandemic to damper their wedding plans. Destiny, sporting a Martina Liana gown and veil, was walked down the aisle of their ceremony by her father, where she and Jeremiah exchanged personalized wedding vows that had their 80 guests either crying tears of joy or tears of laughter. The couple’s largely DIY reception at their picturesque mansion venue proved to be equally enjoyable — after several hilarious speeches, attendees spent the remainder of the night on the dance floor in an all-out dance party.
