Romantic sunset hues for Summer wedding at Spain Ranch near Tulsa, Oklahoma
Real Weddings: Halle & Mitchell
It took more than a birthday party or attending the same church for Halle and Mitchell to truly stop and notice one another’s paths continued to cross. No, it wasn’t until their destinies put them in each other’s sights once more, when they began working at that same non-profit, that it occurred to them to explore a connection. Starting first as friends, but quickly becoming an item, Halle and Mitchell fell in love. On the fifth anniversary of their relationship, Mitchell took Halle to downtown Tulsa, OK and while meandering the streets before a dinner reservation he began reminiscing. He reminded her of the time he asked her to be his girlfriend, and continued by saying he had one more thing to ask her. By then they were in the middle of the street, just as Mitchell had planned, and he was down on one knee. The Oklahoma-based couple actually planned their 2020 summer wedding at lightning speed — three weeks was all they had. “We were supposed to get married in November of 2020,” Halle recalled, “but the opportunity arose to get our venue cheaper than if we waited, and we were unsure what kind of party we’d even be able to throw if we waited longer. I hired a wedding planner and day-of coordinator who helped us stay sane.” And due to the pandemic, Halle and Mitchell opted to have only a ceremony. Despite the uncertainty of 2020, their small nuptials of 60 guests turned out to be quite serene and romantic, as Halle intended, where she was given away at the altar by both of her parents. The flowers for the wedding were carefully selected by none other than the bride herself as she is a florist. Although they are waiting to have their reception until their first anniversary, Halle and Mitchell had guests rendezvous after vows at their favorite taco spot, Elote. “We ate tacos and cake!” Halle exclaimed. That sounds like a winning wedding combination.
