Real Engagements: Kalea & Keon

In the fall of 2016, Kalea was introduced to Keon through a mutual friend while out at a popular bar in the Baltimore, MD metro. And while there was undeniable chemistry between the two, neither of them thought much of their encounter after that night, other than it being a fun, chance meeting. But one day, Kalea, a market manager, went to visit that same mutual friend in Baltimore again. Right away she managed to run into Keon, who possesses an undergraduate degree from Bowie State University. Kalea, has an undergraduate degree from Delaware State University and a master’s degree from Bowie State University. After striking up conversation as effortlessly as before, each took their paths crossing again as a sign that they should explore a relationship. The group of friends went out again, and when it came time to go home, Keon offered to give Kalea a ride. What should have been a 5-minute car ride turned into a 4-hour conversation. 

In 2019, Keon persuaded Kalea to get out of the house one evening so he could take her to dinner. Kalea began to get ready for the date, but upon exiting the bathroom, she was met with Keon down on one knee proposing to her right then and there. He could not wait until the restaurant. The inspiration for their engagement shoot was just to make it feel comfortable and for them to be their authentic selves. Keon and Kalea got married at The Waterfall Claymont in Delaware in June of 2021.
