Casually elegant sage and cornflower blue Summer wedding in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Real Weddings: Lindsay & Bret
Bret and Lindsay are two fun-loving, laid back best friends who happen to also be lovers. Bret had the courage to introduce himself to Lindsay at a bar in their native city of Milwaukee. Lindsay didn’t need much convincing that he’d make a good date…a couple weeks after that chance meeting at the bar, the two matched up on the Tinder app. Thus, dates ensued and they have been together ever since. After periods in graduate schools for both and various moves for jobs, including to places like Minnesota and Texas, the couple had time to dream about their nuptials, as they knew they’d one day wed. In 2016, Bret proposed on New Year’s Eve day. The pair got Ramen for lunch, a nod to their first date, and when they returned home, the song they first kissed to: Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” was playing in the background and he was down on his knee. The couple really wanted their wedding to be about fun without fuss, and to ensure everyone could unwind, they created a vibe that was elegant but featured clean, simple touches. Lindsay carried this through in their decor and color palette, and in the lack of a formal cake, because, who doesn’t love candy and donuts?! As anyone who knows the couple would suspect, the wedding was a perfect realization of the two’s personalities, as just about every one of their 200 guests was dancing and laughing the night away alongside the newlyweds.
