Their story began in college, at Bentley University in Waltham, MA. Nadine was on the swim team and Obi played football. Being student athletes, the two noticed one another but were friends for the majority of their undergraduate days. It took up until their senior year for the two to see each other in a different light. Once they made it official, being in the same proximity was a brief experience in their dating journey. Obi, an accountant, secured a role at a firm in Boston, MA. Nadine pursued a rotational position with a company that required her to rotate to a new geographic location every few months for a two-year time span. She went from Connecticut to South Carolina to New Hampshire. The couple’s relationship became a long distance one overnight and stayed as such until Nadine’s rotation ended and she accepted her permanent job at the Greenville, SC office. Meanwhile, Obi was making moves to get himself out of the northeast and down South to be with his girl. In 2019, the couple’s stars and plans finally aligned, and Nadine and Obi would at long last get to experience a relationship that was not long distance. Fearlessly, their first order of business as a united couple was to purchase their first home together in 2020, despite a looming global pandemic.

Amidst studying diligently to achieve his CPA licensure, Obi found time to plan a proposal and purchase a ring for Nadine. On the night after Obi took his first CPA exam, to celebrate, the duo went out to a nice dinner. Afterwards they strolled around downtown Greenville, and Obi made a point to walk over a bridge that the couple first walked over early in their dating years. Nadine remembered the significance of the bridge as well, but she was still clueless as to what would unfold in the next few moments. While talking and gazing out over the water falling beneath, Obi knelt right as Nadine was intently watching the onlookers below. Noticing Obi had gone silent, Nadine spun around to see him down on one knee and a professional photographer snapping photos of their magic moment. For their quaint engagement photoshoot, the couple knew they wanted to be in downtown Greenville as there were many beautiful photo opts and it is the town that truly signifies their union. Their wedding is planned for November of 2022 at the Gassaway Mansion in Greenville, SC.
