One of our featured couples, Natasha and Marcell, were married in June of 2021 in the Kansas City metro area. We wrote about their engagement and love story here, Real Engagements: Natasha & Marcell. The couple‘s serene summertime nuptials went off without a hitch. Natasha and Marcell were well-taken care of by their bridesmaids and groomsmen; each had a total of 12 making for a bridal party of 24 attendants. And while the couple’s ethereal and heavenly-themed wedding had traditional aspects, such as the lighting of the unity candle, the couple also had some non-traditional features. For the ceremony, the couple chose a different arrangement at the altar, where Marcell and his men all stood on the left hand side of the officiant, while Natasha and her ladies stood on the right side, which is a reversal of the typical altar positioning. Natasha’s father walked her half way down the aisle, where she met with her mother and step father, who both proceeded to walk her the remainder of the way. Marcell’s nerves completely melted away as soon as he saw his beauty take her first step. There was no shortage of fun at the pair’s wedding, which many of their friends and family still rave about. Surely one of the most memorable moments was when Natasha and a couple of her best friends broke out into choreographed dance meant for Marcell to a mix of “One in a Million” by Aaliyah, “Shoop” by Salt-n-Pepa and “Poison” by Bel Biv Devoe. That set the stage for the bridal party and their 200 wedding guests to get out on the floor and boogie down to the throwbacks of the 1990s.
