Real Weddings: Rebekah & Andrew
After matching up on Bumble, the dating app, it only took one date for Rebekah and Andrew to determine they didn’t need to see anyone else. Andrew fell for Rebekah’s determination and go-getter spirit, while she was smitten by the fact that Andrew “puts his all in everything he does.” This included the elaborate proposal Andrew successfully pulled off. He whisked Rebekah, who is an architectural designer, off to Chicago during St. Patrick’s Day weekend for a fun-filled trip where he proposed along the Chicago River during none other than an architectural tour of the city. Andrew, an environmental engineer, left no detail unnoticed. Fast forward to wedding planning and the pair used their superior attention to detail to plan and execute the celebration. It was an all-hands-on-deck affair; Rebekah purchased flowers from Trader Joe’s and with help from her bridal party, they fashioned the DIY arrangements. Rebekah did her own hair and makeup. Meanwhile, Andrew, who enjoys baking and is known for his signature desserts, baked multiple cakes for the wedding. Despite the global pandemic getting in the way, 120 guests were still able to witness Andrew and Rebekah tie the knot after Rebekah was escorted down the aisle by her father at their ceremony. A joyous reception followed, filled with dancing and laughter, and the night ended with the pair sneaking up to the rooftop of the venue to take some skyline photographs. The couple was able to share a beautiful, quiet moment to take in all the magic that had just transpired.
