Real Weddings: Sierra & Tony

Sierra and Tony, a photo-ready couple who met through a mutual friend, got to have an engagement photoshoot go-round when Tony proposed to Sierra. The pair was on a jaunt off to Charleston, SC, and Tony, an engineering professor, had secretly contacted a local photographer to plan and shoot a surprise engagement photo session. Sierra, a graduate of Winthrop University, had no knowledge of the proposal that Tony, who attended Alabama A&M for undergrad and North Carolina State University for his Masters, had up his sleeve. Under Tony’s direction, the photographer contacted Sierra to ask if she would like them to be featured in a “Black Love” styled photoshoot. During the formal photoshoot portion, in Charleston’s Battery Park, Tony dropped down to one knee and asked her to be his wife. The couple was married in balmy South Florida before 80 guests. A significant yet melancholy moment for Sierra occurred during the ceremony when her Great-Uncle Maxie walked her down the aisle. Unfortunately, Sierra’s grandfather was to escort her down the aisle, but he passed away from Covid in 2020. It was a natural fit that his brother would stand in his place. The wedding blew guests away with its well-executed and glamourous décor. Voluminous and abundant chandeliers cast a romantic glow onto the newlywed couple as they celebrated the happiest day of their lives to date.
