Ohio couple who met on Tinder pose in trendy, rooftop engagement shoot in downtown Detroit, Michigan

Real Engagements: Tiana and Jon

Tiana, a hairstylist from Bowling Green, OH and Jon, a marketing manager who graduated from Bowling Green State University, met on Tinder and began dating soon after, their everlasting love proves to be another success story for the popular dating app. When Jon decided that he wanted to make Tiana his wife, he knew that both of them would want a photographer present at their proposal, but understood that it would have to be a trustworthy person that they would be comfortable having witness such an intimate moment. As Jon was devising a plan for how he would propose, he knew that Tiana wouldn’t suspect anything in particular if he staged it as a photoshoot. Tiana was used to taking and posing for photos for her thriving hair stylist and influencer business. The photographer helped him schedule the shoot, planning to take Tiana by complete surprise by bringing her to the proposal spot under the guise of modeling some new poses. When Tiana and Jon arrived at the shoot, their photographer had them face back to back. After a time, they instructed Tiana to turn around, where Jon was waiting, down on one knee, to ask her the most important question of their lives.

The couple ventured up to Detroit, MI, for their engagement photos, this time they hired their friend Eden to drive up for the shoot, about an hour away from their Ohio home. They had worked with Eden in the past and knew she would bring her photographic eye that they so loved. The pair wanted to be amongst the skyscrapers and rooftops in their vision for their engagement shoot. Jon and Tiana will be getting married in Toledo, OH in October of 2023.
