Verdant park elopement in the Florida everglades

Real Weddings: Yasha & Arthur

Persistence truly paid off for Arthur; he and his now wife, Yasha, met while working at a bank. “He asked me out every Saturday [that] I worked at a specific location for three years,” said Yasha, “before I said yes to going out with him.” Needless to say, both are very glad that Yasha finally accepted his invitation, as each found a match for life in one another. Arthur proposed to Yasha in 2018 on Christmas Day. Arthur had written a portion of their “story” during each of the years they were together. He placed these in a series of gift boxes under the Christmas tree. Yasha had to open each of the boxes, one inside another, which kept getting smaller and smaller. One of the boxes was filled with sand, representing beaches, which the couple enjoy. Inside, Yasha uncovered a ring box. Arthur proposed then and there. Fast forward to the present; Yasha, a graduate of University of North Florida, and Arthur, a general contractor, had actually planned to elope in New Zealand, but the pandemic thwarted that idea. As a plan B, the couple found a lovely public park nearby their home at which to have an intimate ceremony. In the end, the couple simply wanted to make their union official and it didn’t matter much to them how it took place, so long as they made it happen.
