New Orleans, Louisiana couple rings in the New Year at nighttime wedding with a formal, black dress code

Real Weddings: Taylor & Sheldon

After coming across Taylor via Facebook, Sheldon boldly professed on only their second ever date that he would marry her. We told of their love story as well as Sheldon’s proposal to Taylor on the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC in this post about their engagement. Circling back to that prophetic date, Sheldon, a graduate of Louisiana State University, Tulane University and the Loyola University School of Law, kept his word and wed the woman of his dreams, Taylor, in a wintertime wedding on none other than New Years Eve. Taylor, who has a degree from Southern University A&M College, wore her first gown of the evening by Demetrios and was escorted down the aisle by her father while a live musician played. She and Sheldon exchanged handwritten vows before 150 guests at an unplugged ceremony. After a scrumptious buffet dinner service, partygoers who were instructed to wear all-black, formal attire, toasted champagne to ring in the New Year while celebrating their favorite newlyweds. Everyone kept the party going as the Second Line band paraded around the venue and Zulu Tramps made an appearance. Guests sent the newly married pair off toward their future and into a new year in a vintage Rolls Royce, waving customized handkerchiefs chosen as the favors.
