Southern sweethearts show off engagement in their native New Orleans, Louisiana after meeting via Facebook
Real Engagements: Taylor & Sheldon
Bold moves are often necessary when trying to get the attention of a beautiful woman. Sheldon knew this when he took the confident first step of messaging Taylor on Facebook. They hit it off, and on lunch date number two, Sheldon boldly told Taylor that he was going to marry her. Taken aback, Taylor smirked, brushing his declaration off as absurd, but she was flattered and intrigued. Sheldon asked Taylor, a graduate of Southern University A&M College, out to dinner that very same day. Taylor played hard to get for many months, but Sheldon was undeterred and consistent in courting Taylor, until, standing firm on his premonition of lasting marriage, he asked her to be his girlfriend.
To propose, Sheldon, who possesses a degree from Louisiana State University, planned a trip to Brooklyn, NYC, for Valentine’s Day in 2019. He told Taylor they’d be going to see “Dumbo.” While Taylor was thinking how she was hoping to see “The Lion King” instead, Sheldon had the taxi take the pair to the Brooklyn Bridge. The couple lingered, and then it occurred to Taylor they were already seeing Dumbo all around them – it’s a neighborhood within Brooklyn. There, in front of the carousel, Sheldon knelt down on one knee and made good on his promise from their lunch date, as he asked the love of his life to marry him. The happy couple got married on December 31, 2021 in New Orleans, LA.
